El Capitulo de Galicia de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela organiza un nuevo Foro CEV centrado en la difusión de la cultura marítima internacional y los grandes ilustres del mar. Este 3 Foro CEV se celebró de l 18 al 19 de junio en la Illa de San Simon en Redondela, Ría de Vigo. Es el tercero que tiene lugar en Galicia

Este Foro CEV ha estado centrado en la figura del Marino navegante español Casto Méndez Núñez, oriundo de Galicia y de la provincia de Pontevedra, y que vivió a finales del siglo XIX.
Se desarrollaron las siguientes actividades:
Conferencia 1. La Campaña del Pacífico y Méndez Núñez a cargo de Jose María Blanco Núñez. Secretario General de la Real Academia del Mar y Académico de la Real Academia de la Historia y de la Comisión Internacional y Nacional de Historia Militar.
Conferencia 2. La Fragata Numancia y su participación en la Campaña del Pacífico, a cargo de Marcelino González Fernández, autor de varios libros sobre la Numancia y sus acciones en el Pacífico. Miembro de la Real Liga Naval y de la Real Academia de la Mar y ex-subdirector del Museo Naval de Madrid.
Conferencia 3.La vuelta al mundo de la Numancia a los ojos de Benito Pérez Galdós, a cargo de Dolores Troncoso Durán. Catedrática de la Universidad de Vigo.
Además tuvo lugar la emisión de la película “el Gatopardo” de Visconti centrado en el reino de las 2 sicilias y que está ambientada en Nápoles, ciudad que acogerá el próximo acto anual de Investidura de nuevos Cofrades y que tendrá lugar del 6 al 9 de octubre. La película fue comentada por Manuel Reigada.
THE THIRD ESF/CEV FORUM IN GALICIA DEDICATED THE MARINE MENDEZ NUÑEZ
The Chapter of Galicia of the European Sailing Fraternity organizes a ESF/CEV new Forum focused on the dissemination of international maritime cultura and its international historical people of the sea. This Third ESF/CEV Forum was held from 18 to 19 of June in the island of San Simon in Redondela, Ria de Vigo. It is the third tthat take place in Galicia
This ESF/CEV Forum has focused on the figure of the Spanish navigator Marino Casto Mendez Nunez, a native of Galicia and the province of Pontevedra that has lived in the nineteenth century.
The activities developed were:
Conference 1. The Pacific Campaign and Mendez Nunez by Jose Maria Blanco Núñez. Secretary General of the Royal Academy ot the Sea and Academician of the Spanish Royal Academy of the History and member of the International Commission ot the National Military History.
Conference 2. The Numancia Shipboat and participation in the Campaign of Pacific, by Marcelino González Fernández, author of several books on Numancia and actions in the Pacific. Member of the Royal Naval League and the Royal Academy of the Sea and former deputy director of Naval Museum in Madrid.
Conferece 3. Navigation around the world of the Numancia through the eyes of writer Benito Perez Galdos, by Dolores Durán Troncoso. Professor of University of Vigo.
Besides it was possible to watch the film “The Leopard” of Visconti focused in the kingdom of the 2 Sicilies and it was set in Naples, city which will host the next annual ceremony of Investiture of new Members of the Fraternity and which will take place from 6 to 9 October. The film was discussed by Manuel Reigada.
