El 8, 9 y 10 de mayo la Cofradía ha desarrollado sus actividades en Andorra con el apoyo del Ministerio de Turismo de Andorra con el objetivo de apoyar y difundir el patrimonio y cultura de Andorra en los 26 países en la que la Cofradía está presente.

 On 8, 9 and 10 May, the Fraternity has developed its activities in Andorra with the support of Ministry of Tourism of Andorra with the aim of supporting and promoting the heritage and culture of Andorra in the 26 countries where the Fraternity is present.

Una de las actividades de la Cofradía son los viajes de confraternización que tienen objetivo doble. Por un lado mejorar la relación y cooperación entre cofrades de distintos lugares y por otro dar a conocer un territorio, su cultura, patrimonio y recursos turísticos a los cofrades, amigos y colabores en los 26 países en los que tiene representación al Cofradía.

Al viaje de confraternización de Andorra han participado medio centenar de asistentes entre cofrades, amigos CEV e invitados. Principalmente los miembros de la delegación proceden de España, Portugal y Alemania. El viaje ha sido organizado por nuestra cofrade en Andorra, Josefina Borra y Francisco Ramón, a los que la Cofradía muestra su agradecimiento por el buen trabajo desarrollado.

La Cofradía destaca la Recepción oficial ofrecida por el Sindic del Consell General (Presidente del Parlamento de Andorra) que tuvo lugar en la Casa de la Vall. Construcción del siglo XVII, la antigua sede del Parlamento de Andorra.

En la recepción el Gran Maestre dirigió unas palabras de agradecimiento al Sindic del Consell General, el Excmo. Vicenç Mateu Zamora, a quien se le entregó la metopa oficial de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela. El Sindic agradeció la visita y la difusión de las bellezas y tesoros que Andorra ofrece al visitante mas alla de la oferta para la práctica de los deportes de esquí. En la presentación el Sindic explicó el nacimiento y el sistema de gobierno de Andorra que incluye una Jefatura de Estado que es compartida por 2 copríncipes, el Presidente de la República Francesa y el Obispo de Seu d´Urgell y que han hecho de este territorio una de las democracias más antiguas de Europa.

También tuvo lugar la visita al Centro Histórico de Andorra la Vella, la Casa Museu d’Areny Plandolit y Museo Postal entre otros.

El día 8 tuvo lugar el acto de entrega de Diplomas Amigos CEV presidido por la Subsindic Mónica Bonell en Hotel Roc Blanc. El acto contó con la presencia del Ministro de Turismo y Comercio. Los nuevos amigos CEV son 14, siendo la mayoría de Andorra y de Cataluña. Estos últimos vinculados a la vela andorrana.

Por último se celebró una Conferencia sobre “la Andorra insólita” a cargo de Claude Benet Mas, centrada en la cultura y patrimonio de Andorra.

La delegación el domingo se desplazó al Port d´Énvalida en Grandvalira que es un gran valle que cuenta con clima atlántco frente al resto de valles de Andorra de clima mediterráneo. Previamente se había ido a visitar el magnífico museo de coches antiguos en el Museo Nacional del Automovil en la localidad de Encamp.

Finalmente el viaje finalizó con la visita a la Basílica Menor de Meritxell que fue diseñada por el Arquitecto Boffil para sustituir a la antigua basílica que se quemó y un concierto del Coro de los pequeños cantores de Andorra.

Durante el viaje la delegación pudo conocer la gastronomía de Andorra centrada principalmente en las carnes, quesos y patés.

THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY IN ANDORRA

On 8, 9 and 10 May, the Fraternity has developed its activities in Andorra with the support of Ministry of Tourism of Andorra with the aim of supporting and promoting the heritage and culture of Andorra in the 26 countries where the Fraternity is present.

One of the activities of the Fraternity is the voyages of fraternization with dual purpose. On one hand improve the relationship and cooperation between members from different places and on the other to provide a territory, culture, heritage and tourism resources to the members, friends and collaborators in the 26 countries where it is represented to the Fraternity.

In the trip of fraternization of Andorra have participated fifty attendees between members, friends and guests ESF. The members of the delegation were from Spain, Portugal and Germany. The trip was organized by our member  in Andorra, Josefina Borra and Francisco Ramón, which the Fraternity shows its appreciation for the good work done.

It was specially important the Official Reception hosted by the Sindic fo the General Conseil (Chairman of the Parlament of Andorra) in the Casa de la Vall. It was building in XVII century and nowadays is the former headquarters of the Parlament of Andorra.

In official meeting the Grand Master spoke a few words of thanks to the Sindic fo the General Conseil, the Hon. Vicenç Mateu Zamora, who was given the official gift of the European Sailing Fraternity. The Sindic welcomed the visit and dissemination of the beauties and treasures that Andorra offers the visitor beyond practicing  ski sports. In the meeting  the Sindic explained the birth and the system of government of Andorra that includes one Chief of the State shares by 2 coprinces, the President of the French Republic and the Bishop of  Seu d´Urgellas and who have made this country one of the oldest democracies in Europe.

There was also a visit to the Historic Center of Andorra la Vella, the Casa Museu d’Areny Plandolit and Postal Museum among others.

The 8th ceremony of ESF Friends took place in Hotel Roc Blanc chaired by the Subsíndic Monica Bonell In the event also participated the Minister of Tourism and Trade. The ESF new friends are 14, most of them from  Andorra and Catalonia. These from Catalonia linked to the Andorran sailing.

This ceremony finished with a conference about “the unusual Andorra” by Claude Benet Mas, focused on culture and heritage of Andorra.

Sunday the delegation traveled to Port d’Énvalida in Grandvalira. It is a large valley which atlantic climate compared to other valleys of Andorra with Mediterranean climate. Previously the grupo had gone to visit the magnificent museum of vintage cars at the National Automobile Museum in the town of Encamp.

Finally the tour ended with a visit to the Basilica of Meritxell that was designed by architect Bofill to replace the ancient basilica which burned and a where a concert by the Choir of Young Singers of Andorra took place.

During the trip the delegation was able to know the gastronomy of Andorra focused mainly on meats, cheeses and pates.
