On April 23, Madrid has welcomed a new presentation of our Member of ESF, Rafael Torrent and his book “Beyond the horizon. Thousand Miles of Menorca boat “on the regatta “Thousand miles of two” where Torrent participated with his friend Manuel Salord. In the event also intervened our brother Camilo J. Cela Conde and Enrique Curt.

Presentación Mas alla del horizonte

The regatta was organized by the publisher Coleccio Jamma in the bookshop Robinson (A nautical bookshop) of Madrid.

The presentation was introduced by Camilo Jose Cela Conde, famous sailor who has repeatedly made this regatta of the “Thousand miles of two.” Camilo made the foreword of this book.

The ” Thousand Miles of two” was the most important regatta of the Mediterranean in the 80s and it was organized by the magazine Skipper in collaboration with the Yacht Club of Vilanova and Geltrú in Barcelona.

The book recounts the regatta from the previous days, starting on July 18 and return on 29th July in 1984 leaving and returning to Vilanova i la Geltru and via Sardinia. The book includes some conclusions of Torrent and a nautical vocabulary.
