La Cofradía Europea de la Vela creó el Premio Cofradía Europea de la Vela en el año 2010 como instrumento para reconocer a los deportistas y personalidades que han destacado por su trayectoria a favor del fomento de la vela.
En septiembre de 2011 la Tabla (Junta Directiva) de la Cofradía reunida en la ciudad portuguesa de Oporto acordó por unanimidad de sus miembros conceder el Premio 2012 a Roberto Bermúdez de Castro a propuesta de Antonio Roquette, Presidente del Comité Premio CEV de la Cofradía. Este gran navegante nacido en A Coruña en 1970 fue elegido por su larga trayectoria como navegante. Fue Olímpico en Atlanta 1995, participó en la Copa América, el Circuito Medcup, ha ganado la Copa del Rey en diversas ocasiones y sobre ha dado la vuelta al mundo 5 veces en el marco de la regata Volvo Ocean Race (VOR), la primera en el Galicia 93 Pescanova y la última hasta este momento en el Camper.
Por ello la Cofradía va a celebrar su acto oficial de entrega del Premio. Este tendrá lugar el día 17 de noviembre en el Real Club Náutico de La Coruña en el Edificio del Club Social situado en Calle Celedonio de Uribe, nº 1, antes M. Almirante Vierna (zona Dársena) – La Coruña. (www.rcncoruna.com).
El acto comenzará a las 12:00 con la recepción de invitados y asistentes y la entrega tendrá lugar a las 12:30 de la mañana. El acto estará presidido por el Gran Maestre D. Francisco Quiroga y el Presidente del RCN de la Coruña D. Germán Suárez-Pumariega Lores.
ROBERTO BERMUDEZ DE CASTRO “CHUNI” WILL RECEIVE THE ANNUAL AWARD OF THE EUROPEAN BROTHERHOOD SAILING (3RD EDITION) ON 17 NOVEMBER IN THE REAL CLUB NAUTICO DE LA CORUÑA.

In September 2011 The Table (Board of Directors) in his meeting in the Portuguese city of Oporto agreed to give the 2012 CEV award to Roberto Bermudez de Castro a proposal from Antonio Roquette, Chairman of the Award Committee of the Brotherhood CEV. This great navigator was borned in A Coruña in 1970.
