La Cofradía Europea de la Vela ha investido en Porto a 32 nuevos cofrades de Italia, Chile, Portugal, Canadá, Uruguay, Estados Unidos de América, España, Angola e Irlanda. El acto tuvo lugar en el edificio del la Camara Municipal de Porto y fue presidido por el Alcalde-Presidente de Porto Rui de Carvalho de Araújo Moreira.
The European Sailing Fraternity has invested 32 new members from Italy, Chile, Portugal, Canada, Uruguay, USA, Spain, Angola and Ireland in the city of Porto. The event took place in the building of the Municipality of Porto and was chaired by the Mayor of Porto Rui de Carvalho de Araújo Moreira.
La Investidura de Porto ha sido un éxito de participación y de nombramiento de Cofrades. Los momentos mas importantes han sido:
La llegada de asistentes e invitados que ocuparon sus lugares en el espacio dispuesto en la entrada noble y escalinata del Ayuntamiento de Porto.
Los nuevos cofrades y los cofrades actuales desfilaron hasta ocupar sus lugares. Finalmente desfiló la Tabla (Junta Directiva) acompañados del Presidente de la Cámara junto al Gran Maestre (Presidente).
El Presidente de la Cámara de Porto, Rui Moreira dirigió unas palabras de bienvenida a todos los asistentes. Recordó sus tiempos de navegante y su vinculación con la vela y el mar.
El Canciller inició el acto oficial de investidura con el primer novicio, el Presidente de la Camara de Porto. Tras su juramento se le hizo entrega de un obsequio por parte del Gran Maestre de una porcelana famosa de Portugal.
A continuación hicieron su juramento el resto de nuevos cofrades finalizando con un discurso del nuevo Cofrade Luis Adao da Fonseca en nombre de los nuevos miembros y realizado en Portugués, Español, Francés e Inglés.
El Gran Maestre realizó su discurso de cierre del acto acompañado en todo momento con distintas intervenciones de la Banda de Música de la Armada entre las que se destacan el Himno de Portugal y la Marcha de los Marinheiros.
Al terminar los cofrades y nuevos cofrades realizaron una fotografía de familia en la escalinata central del edificio y luego pudieron disfrutar de un Vinho de Porto de honra ofrecido por la Camara de Porto.

32 NEW MEMBERS FROM 9 COUNTRIES IN THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNINTY INVESTITURE EVENT IN PORTO
The European Sailing Fraternity has invested 32 new members from Italy, Chile, Portugal, Canada, Uruguay, USA, Spain, Angola and Ireland in the city of Porto. The event took place in the building of the Municipality of Porto and was chaired by the Mayor of Porto Rui de Carvalho de Araújo Moreira.
The Investiture of Porto was a success of guests and new members participation. The highlights were:
The arrival of the participants and guests going to their places in the space provided in the noble entrance and stairs of the Municipality Builiding of the City of Porto.
The new members and the rest of members marched in parade to take their places. Finally, the Table (Board of Directors) parade to the Presidency accompanied by the Major and the Grand Master (President).
The Major of the Municipality of Porto, Rui Moreira spoke a few words of welcome to all attendees. He recalled his days as a sailor and his relationship with the sailing and the sea.
The Chancellor began the official ceremony of investiture with the first new member, the Major of Porto. After his oath the Fraternity gave a gift of a famous porcelain Portugal to him by hands of the Grand Master.
Then the rest of new members made their oath finishing with a speech by the new member Luis Adao da Fonseca on the name of the rest of new members and conducted in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.
The Grand Master closed the ceremony with his speech. During all the ceremony we were accompanied with various interventions of the Band of the Navy or Portugal, like the Anthem of Portugal and the March of Marinheiros.
At the end all the members took a family photo in the central staircase of the building and then enjoyed with a Honour Vinho Porto offered by the Municipality of Porto.
