La Delegación Canaria de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela coordinada por Enrique Boissier, mantiene varias reuniones con el Gobierno de las Palmas (Cabildo) para poner avanzar y coordinar la Regata de los Alisios en las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The Canaries Islands Delegation of the European Sailing Fraternity coordinated by Enrique Boissier, holds several meetings with the Government of Las Palmas (Cabildo and Council) to put forward and coordinate the Regatta of the Discoveries in Las Palmas.

Delegación CEV con Presidente del Cabildo

La delegación Canaria de la Cofradía (Capítulo) estaba formada Enrique Boissier, Adelina González, Fernando León, Patricia Guerra y José Romero.

Se han mantenido dos reuniones de trabajo. Una primera con el Presidente del Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria y otra con el Director-Gerente del Instituto Insular de Deportes de Gran Canaria.

El Presidente del Cabildo, Antonio Morales Méndez, recibió y atendió muy cordialmente a la delegación de la Cofradía y escuchó el proyecto de la Cofradía de organizar el evento de la Regata de los Descubridores. El delegado de la Cofradía entregó el dossier de la regata con recorridos, instrucciones y fechas. También se informó de la previsión de los 500 participantes procedentes de Reino Unido, Italia, Portugal y España principalmente y de los avances en las inscripciones por parte de las instituciones de Lisboa.

Al Presidente del Cabildo le pareció muy interesante la iniciativa, la experiencia de los promotores, las entidades canarias participantes como el Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria y la Junta del Puerto.

La otra reunión fue con Alfredo Gonçalvez, Director Gerente del Instituto Insular de Deportes al que se le presentó esta gran regata de grandes barcos que zarparían de Lisboa y llegarían a Las Palmas antes de noviembre de 2017, en número de participantes, las entidades involucradas y las necesidades de apoyo. Se le informa que la regata seguirá los trayectos y navegaciones de los antiguos descubridores españoles y portugueses durante lo siglos XV y XVI. La regata incluye actividades en tierra para unir deporte y cultura marítima.

THE CANARY ISLANDS CHAPTER MEETS WITH THE GOBERMENT OF CANARY ISLAND FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DISCOVERIES RACE PROMOTED BY THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY

The Canaries Islands Delegation of the European Sailing Fraternity coordinated by Enrique Boissier, holds several meetings with the Government of Las Palmas (Cabildo and Council) to put forward and coordinate the Regatta of the Discoveries in Las Palmas.

The delegation of the Fraternity in Canary Island (Chapter) is formed by Enrique Boissier, Adelina Gonzalez, Fernando Leon, Patricia Guerra and Jose Romero.

They have held two meetings. First with the President of the Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria and another with the Managing Director of the Institute of Sports of Gran Canaria.

The President of the Cabildo, Antonio Morales Méndez, was very warmly and attended and listened the project of the Regatta of Discoverers from the delegation of the Fraternity. The delegate of the Fraternity gave him the dossier of the race with the itineraries, participants and dates. He was also reported about the forecast of 500 participants from the UK, Italy, Portugal and Spain and teh big progress in the enrollment of participants made by the institutions of Lisbon.

The President of the Cabildo seemed very interesting with the initiative, the experience of the promoters, the Canary participants entities such as the Real Club Nautico de Gran Canaira and the port authority.

The other meeting took place with Alfredo Goncalves, Manager of the Insular Sports Institute, who received the information from this great regatta of sailing large ships from Lisbon and that will reach Las Palmas before November 2017, also the number of participants, the entities involved and the support required. He was informed that the race will follow the routes and navigations of the old Spanish and portuguese discoverers during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
The race includes activities on ground to mix sport and maritime culture.
