Las actividades realizadas incluyeron, 3 conferencias, 4 mesas temáticas de expertos internacionales, 1 entrega del Premio Internacional de la Vela, 1 presentación, y un acto de Investidura.

​The a ctivities included ​ were:​ 3 conferences, 4 thematic ​workshops of international experts, 1 International Sail ​ing Award, 1 presentation, and ​the Investiture ​ oficial event​.

Galicia tomó el testigo de los actos anuales de la Asociación Internacional Cofradía Europea de la Vela, que el año pasado tuvieron lugar en Nápoles (ITALIA). La Asociación agrupa a 584 expertos, profesionales, navegantes, regatistas, representantes de clubes, periodistas, escritores, vinculados y amantes del mar, la vela y la cultura marítima de 35 países.

Este año 2017 celebró sus actividades en la Ría de Vigo en las localidades de Isla de San Simón (Redondela), Isla Cíes (Vigo), Baiona y Oia del 8 al 11 de junio.

Las principales actividades fueron:

1.CONFERENCIAS Y FOROS CEV donde transmitir la cultura marítima y deportiva dando lugar a 3 Conferencias:

• el día 8 en Oia, en el Talaso Atlántico, tubo lugar la Conferencia CEV a cargo de un descendiente del navegante internacional Cristóbal Colón, D.  Diego Colón  con el título ”Colón Navegante. El conocimiento Náutico en el siglo XV”. De esta forma la Cofradía contribuye a recordar que Baiona y la ría de Vigo fue la primera localidad de Europa en recibir la Noticia del Descubrimiento de América por Colón.
• El día 11 en la Isla de San Simón tubo lugar el VI FORO CEV con dos conferencias.

Una a cargo de Dña. Pilar Farjas: “La Real Expedición Filantrópica de la Vacuna de la Viruela de 1803” donde se pone en valor el de como España atendió sus territorios de América y Asia llevándoles los últimos avances en salud que permitieron que estos pudieran acceder desde el primer momento a esta vacuna.

La otra conferencia a cargo del Catedrático Camilo J. Cela Conde, quien mostró una faceta poco conocida del ilustre escritor y Premio Novel con el título : “Camilo José Cela Marinero”

2. Como parte de la difusión de la REGATA DISCOVERIES RACEse realizó una presentación de la Regata en la Isla de San Simón.

3. Para buscar soluciones a los problemas para el desarrollo de la vela en el mundo, la Cofradía celebró unas MESAS TEMÁTICAS sobre el deporte de la Vela, las Regatas, la Cultura Marítima y el potencial de una red de expertos, que es la Cofradía, para contribuir como Lobby para posicionar la vela en el lugar que se merece en el mundo. De las propuestas, buenas prácticas y conclusiones que se derivaron de las mesas de expertos desarrollará publicaciones para trasladar a clubes náuticos. Administradores, responsables políticos de los 32 países para que puedan tener en cuenta las reflexiones y buenas prácticas detectadas, funcionando como el Think Tank de la Vela.

4. El Sábado acogió en Baiona, la cena oficial de confraternización y el acto principal de entrega del PREMIOINTERNACIONAL DE LA VELA “PEDRO REY,” a la figura del 5 veces Olímpico Portugués, Joao Rodrigues.

5. Los actos terminaron el día 11 de junio en la villa de Baiona, en el Parador Nacional de Baiona, con el acto central de la Cofradía, el acto de INVESTIDURAde  los novicios entran a formar parte en la Cofradía como Cofrades y damas de pleno derecho. Este año entraron a formar parte 22 nuevos miembros de 7 países: España, Angola, Portugal, Italia, México, Argentina y Bélgica

En todos estos actos acudieron más de 180 personas, que proceden de 13 países, principalmente de España, Portugal, Italia, Angola, México, Argentina, Bélgica, Paraguay, Brasil, Francia, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, y Estados Unidos de América.

GALICIA WAS THE CENTER OF ​EVENTS  OF THE INTERNATIONAL ​SAILING ​ ASSOCIATION, ​THE ​ EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY, ​IN THE RIA DE VIGO ​ IN BAIONA, REDONDELA AND THE CIES ISLANDS AS CENTERS OF ACTIVITIES FROM 8 TO 11 JUNE

Galicia ​will be the main location of the annual events of the ​European Sailing Fraternity, which last year took place in Naples (ITALY). The Association ​has 584 ​members between, ​ experts, professionals, navigators, sailors, representatives of clubs, journalists, writers, linked and lovers of the sea, sailing and maritime culture of 35 countries.

​In t This year 2017 ​,​  ​i​ ts activities ​will celebrate ​ in the Ría de Vigo in the localities of Isla de San Simón (Redondela), Cies Island (Vigo), Baiona and Oia from 8 to 11 June.

The main activities were:

1.CONFERENCES AND ESF/​ CEV FORUMS where ​it will be transmit ​ed​ the maritime and sports culture ​in  3 Conferences:

The First on the 8th in Oia, in the ​Hotel  Talaso ​ Atlntico​, the ​ESF/C​ ​ ​ ​ EV Conference was held by a descendant of the international navigator Cristóbal Colón, Diego Colón with the title “Colón Navegante. Nautical knowledge in the fifteenth century” With this activity the Fraternity contributes to remember that Baiona and the ​Ría of Vigo was the first locality ​in Europe to receive the News of the Discovery of America by Columbus.

The other two conferences took place o On the 11th in the Island of San Simón, ​with the  VI ​edition of ESF/​ CEV FORUM was held with two conferences.

• One by Pilar Farjas: “The Royal Philanthropic Expedition of the Smallpox Vaccine of 1803” where it is ​put in ​ value how Spain served its territories of America and Asia taking the latest advances in health that allowed ​a ccess ​ these ​territories from the first moment ​ to this vaccine.
• The other ​conference was made by the Professor Camilo J. Cela Conde, who showed a little known facet of the illustrious writer and Novel Prize with the title: “Camilo José Cela Marinero”
• As part of the dissemination of the REGATA DISCOVERIES RACE a presentation of the Regatta was held on the Island of San Simón.

2. In order to find solutions to the problems for the development of sailing in the world, the Fraternity held a series of​ THEMATIC ​WORKSOHPS about the sport of Sailing, Regattas, Maritime Culture and the potential of a network of experts, which is the Fraternity ​ with the aim to o contribute as a Lobby to ​put the sail in the place it deserves in the world. Proposals, best practices and conclusions derived from expert panels will develop publications for transfer to nautical clubs. Administrators, political leaders of the 32 countries so that they can take into account the reflections and good practices detected, functioning as the Think Tank of the Sail.
3. On Saturday, in Baiona, the official dinner of the Fraternity and the main event of delivery of the INTERNATIONAL PRIZE OF SAIL ​ILNG ESF/CEV ​ “PEDRO REY,” ​was handed over of the 5 times Portuguese Olympic ​ Championship​ , Joao Rodrigues.
4. The events ended on June 11 in the town of Baiona, in the Parador Nacional de Baiona, with the central act of the Fraternity, the

​INVESTITURE  of ​new members, The novices ​, who​ entered to form part of the Fraternity as cofrades and ladies ​. This year 22 new members from 7 countries joined: Spain, Angola, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Argentina and Belgium

In all these events , more than 180 people ​participated and ​ came from 13 countries, mainly from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Angola, Mexico, Argentina, Belgium, Paraguay, Brazil, France, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and the United States of America.
