El Barco Bigamist del que fue nuestro Cofrade Pedro Mendonça ha participado por última vez en una regata. Ha sido en la 34 Copa del Rey Mapfre celebrada en Palma donde ha ocupado la tercera posición.
The Bigamist boat property of our Fratenity´s Member Pedro Mendonça has participated for the last time in a race. It was in the 34th Copa del Rey Mapfre held in Palma in which has occupied the third position.

Los medios de comunicación españoles como la Vanguardia han publicado una noticia sobre Pedro Mendonça y su último barco el Bigamist como homenaje a un hombre y su apoyo a la vela y sobre todo a la vela en los jóvenes.
El barco ha acudido por expreso deseo de su hija Ana y por ser esta regata una a la que Pedro había acudido y apoyado en numerosas ocasiones. En el barco ha participado su nieto, Afonso Domingos e incluso Chuny Bermúdez actual vencedor de la Volvo Ocean Race.
El periódico la Vanguardia de Barcelona ha publicado una noticia titulada “Bigamist, dos amores. El último de los velero de Pedro Mendonça se despide de la competición”. Ha sido un artículo en memoria de Pedro y que repasa su trayectoria a favor de la vela y el apoyo para que jóvenes portugueses llegaran a la élite de la vela.
En el artículo se recuerda que Pedro instauró la posición de Observador, invitado o armador como parte de las tripulaciones en la Regata. También habla de la procedencia del nombre del barco Bigamist, y la historia que procedía de que él tenía dos esposas una su mujer, nuestra querida y amiga de la Cofradía Madalena y su barco.
La Regata, sus amigos y la gran familia de la Vela reunida en Palma ha sentido muy presente a Pedro Mendonça.

PEDRO MENDONÇA AND HIS BOAT BIGAMIST HAVE BEEN HONOURED IN THE COPA DEL REY REGATTA
The Bigamist boat property of our Fratenity´s Member Pedro Mendonça has participated for the last time in a race. It was in the 34th Copa del Rey Mapfre held in Palma in which has occupied the third position.
The Spanish media as the Vanguardia Newspaper has published a story about Pedro Mendonça and his latest boat Bigamist as a tribute to a man and his support for sailing especially in young people.
The ship has gone by the express wish of his daughter, Ana, and because this race has been once where Peter participated and supported on numerous occasions. In this occasion on the sailing boat has been member of the crew his grandson, the skyper Afonso Domingos and even Chuny Bermudez current winner of the Volvo Ocean Race.
The Barcelona newspaper La Vanguardia has published a report titled “Bigamist, two loves. The last sailing boat of Pedro Mendonça says goodbye to the competition”. It has been an article in memory of Pedro and reviewing his career for sailing and support young Portuguese to reach the sailing elite.
The article recalls that Peter established the position of observer, invited or owner as part of the crews in the race. It also talks about the origin of the name of the boat Bigamist, and the history that it came from the idea that he had two wives, one wife, our dear friend of the Fraternity, Madalena and the other his boat.
Pedro Mendonça has been very present in friends and the great sailing family minds gathered in Palma Regatta.
